Are you a trend setter?

What does it take to be a trend setter?

The media tells us celebrities are the trend setters, but I disagree. Sure, some celebs have a good knack with consistently presenting their sense of style, but few do it on their own. Most styles we love are worn by the people we know. We buy things we see other girls actually wearing in real life. It’s one thing to see Mischa Barton wearing high-waisted jeans and another to see your roommate in them. Your roommate would probably have more sway over you trying a pair, right? (Unless she looked disgusting in them and you had to have “a talk” with her.)

The power we have, as gals who love fashion and friends, to sway trends is greater than that of a celebrity on the pages of a magazine.

We have this power because when a friend tells you “Trust me, you’ll look great in high waisted jeans- just try them” or “Really, the floaty-dress thing is unflattering on you” you actually listen…versus seeing a celeb in the style or having a magazine tell you what you “should” be wearing.

Trendi takes the power we have to set trends and amplifies it. If you have an opinion about fashion, I want to talk to you about how you can play a role in our launch. Email me and I’ll tell you more.
